Light provides quality of life and well-being to city dwellers in their night-time activities.
It asserts the identity of the city, day and night.
It creates emotions and atmosphere.
This contribution can only take its rightful place if it minimizes its environmental impact in terms of both energy and resources. The environmental impact of the city in its various components is a fundamental and priority concern for anyone managing a city.

Auroralia award
The objective of the Auroralia Award is to reward 3 cities that have implemented a system of exterior lighting that minimizes the environmental footprint in the most noticeable, exemplary and original way.
Launched in 2009 by LUCI and Schréder, this initiative aims at sharing the practices that form the basis of these installations and thereby enable as many cities as possible to adopt them or take inspiration from them.
